The Chairman and Ranking Member of the Committee on Ethics have announced an extension to the matter concerning Representative Wesley Hunt. This decision, made in accordance with House Rule XI, clause 3(b)(8)(A), and Committee Rules 17A(b)(1)(A) and 17A(c)(1), comes after the issue was initially transmitted to the Committee by the Office of Congressional Ethics on March 25, 2024.
The Committee emphasized that neither a referral nor an extension, including the mandatory disclosure of such an extension and the name of the subject involved, should be interpreted as evidence of any violation or as a judgment from the Committee.
The next steps regarding this matter will be announced by the Committee on or before Monday, June 24, 2024.
