Deputy of the year

We are honored and proud to share that Deputy Hunter McBride was named the 2022 Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office Deputy of the Year.  Each year, this award is presented to the Lowndes County Law Enforcement Officer who went above and beyond the call of duty, and we're incredibly proud that Deputy McBride earned that honor this year! Deputy Sheriff of the Year was established to recognize deputy sheriffs who have demonstrated outstanding bravery or performance while fulfilling their duty. Deputy McBride was nominated by his peers and leadership from his respective division. This was not an award simply given, but respectfully earned by nomination by the winner’s fellow men and women deputies. Deputy McBride not only works as a deputy, but also is a volunteer at District 1 Fire Department in Caledonia. He is also part of the Lowndes County SWAT Team and is our County Fire Investigator. The man is rather busy, if you consider all of the training that encompasses those positions, help me in congratulating him in a job well done.
