There is nothing harder than learning of the loss of a brother. Today, we share in the loss with Meridian Police Department, and Law Enforcement Agencies across our state as another one of our brothers has fallen.
”Officer Down” is an extremely hard thing to hear, so close to home.
We are proud that Officer Kennis Croom’s handcuffs were placed on the wrists of Dante Bender this morning and he is in custody. We are proud of the team work and effort between our fellow agencies that allowed him to be brought into custody so quickly.
Words can not express our sincere sadness at the loss of not only Officer Croom, but also Brittany Jones, who lost her life as well. Evil exists in this world, but the Thin Blue Line stands there strong even in our darkest hours.
