Graduates earn 894 degrees from Mississippi University for Women

About 63 percent of the 894 degrees and certificates handed out by Mississippi University for Women in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Columbus conferred 458 bachelor's degrees and 50 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 388 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 87 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management and 50 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse.

The university enrolled 2,711 students for 2017-18, including 2,505 in undergraduate programs and 206 in graduate programs.
