98 percent of applicants to Mississippi University for Women were admitted for fall 2018

At Mississippi University for Women, 74 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 80 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Columbus enrolled 2,711 students in fall 2018, including 2,505 in undergraduate and 206 in graduate programs, data shows. 26.8 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

74 percent of undergraduates are residents of Mississippi, and 25 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (58 percent) and Black or African American (37 percent).

The school admitted 98 percent of the 585 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 33 percent enrolled.
